Hi, I’m Landon Mehrer, a composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist currently studying Commercial Music at Grand Canyon University. I’ve been involved in music for much of my life, both as a performer and a creator, and I plan to pursue a career in composition, particularly writing music for film and other visual media.
My primary instruments are trombone and guitar, though I also have experience with piano, percussion, trumpet, and tuba. Throughout high school, I performed in a variety of ensembles, including concert bands, jazz ensembles, pit orchestras, and youth orchestras. I served as Principal Trombone of the East Valley Youth Symphony and was selected for Arizona Guitar All-State during my senior year.
Composition has increasingly become the center of my musical work. I especially enjoy writing instrumental music, from smaller chamber works to music for full ensembles, and I’m always looking for opportunities to experiment with different styles, instruments, and musical ideas.
